Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea’s 27-year-old attacking midfielder and striker (contract runs until 2029), has been mentioned as a possible target for his parent club Paris Saint-Germain this winter, despite his desire for more playing time. Journalist Romain Collet Gaudin confirmed on Tuesday that Paris had decided to bring back the player.
“PSG are looking for a winger to bolster their ranks this winter, and are keen to bring Christopher Nkunku back to the club.
The idea would be a loan with OA”
Would PSG really have made the choice to accelerate in order to recruit Nkunku? It’s entirely conceivable, given his limited playing time in the Premier League, which he may want to get out of, even if he’s still playing, especially in other competitions.
He’s also a PSG-trained player, so there could be a great story there with a player determined to win this time. It would be great for Nkunku to take part in his first Champions League triumph.
But don’t worry, nothing’s been done yet. A lot is still possible. Chelsea are not going to part with their player easily, who may have other plans than Paris. Just as PSG may have other priorities. Let’s wait for the certainties.
