Willian Pacho, Paris Saint-Germain’s 23-year-old defender, spoke to beIN SPORTS after the 1-2 win over Lens on Saturday at Stade Bollaert as part of Matchday 18 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. He reflected on the victory despite a poor first half. The Ecuadorian underlined what has changed.
Pacho “We weren’t offensive enough, we didn’t put enough pressure on.”
What can we say about this victory tonight – we saw great joy from the team?
I’m extremely happy with the win. We got off to a bad start, but fortunately we managed to come back and I’m extremely happy with the result.
How can this team be so different in the first and second halves?
We didn’t attack enough, we didn’t put on enough pressure, but we stepped up our intensity in the second half and that’s what enabled us to win the match. The team was also more united.
What do you expect from the next decisive match?
We’re going to need some rest and a lot of preparation. That’s what we’re going to do.
