This Saturday, as part of the 20th day of Ligue 1 2024-2025, Paris Saint-Germain faced Brest at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. After a match in which the Rouge et Bleu were a little uneven, despite some very good phases, they won 2-5 (Brest/PSG video highlights). Here are our notes on the Parisians.
Goalkeeper –
Gianluigi Donnarumma (5.5) – Made 2 fine saves in the first half and had little to do with the goals conceded, but was a little imprecise in his exits and relaunches.
Defenders –
Achraf Hakimi (5.5) – Interesting at times, but had a bit of a night compared to his usual impressive form. He made a slight mistake on the second Brest goal when he pushed away the cross poorly. But he did make some very important returns.
Marquinhos (5,5) – We’ve known him to be more imperious, but he held up well in difficult situations, while Pacho didn’t always help.
Willian Pacho (4) – Faulty for the equaliser with a header, he could have been more solid for the second. Ajorque made him suffer. Clearly not his best game in Paris. Although he didn’t miss out either.
Nuno Mendes (5.5) – Always invaluable with his speed on certain returns or climbs, we didn’t see much of him though.
Midfielders –
Fabian Ruiz (4.5) – Didn’t really miss a beat, did a clean job and set up the opening goal with his pass to Barcola. But he still lacks initiative and impact.
Vitinha (6) – A real boss in midfield in the first half and the creator of chances, he was much less effective in the second half.
Lee Kang-In (5) – He was his usual self: a little lacking in initiative at times, some painful ball losses, but also some very fine passes and very aggressive pressing when he lost the ball. We always expect more. He raised his game with the decisive pass for the 3rd goal. Replaced in the 80th minute by Senny Mayulu.
Forwards –
Ousmane Dembélé (9) – He had a few little misses and the 10 seemed a bit exaggerated, but it was another great performance from Dembélé. He surprised once again with a hat-trick, without ever forgetting to defend. Replaced by Gonçalo Ramos in the 66th minute.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (5.5) – Some fine initiatives, which his team-mates could sometimes have exploited better. He was very diligent and played a part in the second goal. But he still needs to step up his game. His adaptation to the team is taken into account in the score. Replaced by Désiré Doué in the 57th minute.
Bradley Barcola (6.5) – The striker is back in form, especially with his ability to make a difference down the flank with his accelerations, as well as some good passing afterwards. Replaced in the 66th minute by Lucas Hernandez (who played more defensively).
Coach –
Luis Enrique (7) – The Spanish coach continued to manage his squad and PSG came out on top, even if there were some complicated moments. Above all, we have the feeling that PSG can manage and accelerate when they need to.
