In a podcast, Brazilian and former Paris Saint-Germain player, Neymar Jr, explained that he had reached his best level with the capital club. Often injured, often mocked and criticized, Neymar nonetheless remains one of the best players to have passed through Ligue 1 in the history of the championship.
“I reached my prime at PSG because I managed to become better in more areas. I could have several roles. At PSG I could play in the middle, so I organized. I gave more assists, I had better stats, and I was stronger.”
The problem is that Neymar has never really bonded with Parisian fans. As a result, his track record is largely underestimated. He has often been criticized for his lack of investment, whereas he has very often shown that he gives his all for the club.
His right-hand passes, his excesses and his injuries have spoiled the party, and he hasn’t performed as well as we’d hoped. However, he remains a player with incredible statistics and, above all, he is the player of the final 8, in 2020 and this Champions League final. He will be remembered with a taste of unfinished business.
