Véronique Rabiot, the mother and agent of 29-year-old Olympique de Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot, has decided to lodge a complaint following the chants and banners at the Parc des Princes during Sunday night’s match between Paris Saint-Germain and OM (3-1 win, day 26 of Ligue 1). The player responded on social networks, with a tackle on Parisian president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi.

Rabiot responds curtly to banners “everything has to be paid for one day”

“Insulting a mother, and a dead father…
Everything has to be paid for one day.
You won’t take it to heaven. Take it from me.

Nasser you can have all the money in the world and then some, class can’t be bought”

Rabiot understandably didn’t like it. That’s the point. We won’t get into a wide-ranging debate about banners or insulting chants in soccer. A change could do some good, no doubt.

Except that, for the moment, it’s a habit and it’s an injustice to see the furore around the Parc des Princes when other stadiums don’t attract the slightest reaction. Including the Stade Vélodrome, which insulted the Parisians on their last visit. Which makes it all a little ridiculous.
