Jadon Sancho, the 24-year-old Manchester United and England winger (contract runs until 2026), was recently announced as a concrete target for Paris Saint-Germain in the 2024 summer mercato. Sky Sport assures us this Friday that PSG have an essential asset in Borussia Dortmund and Juventus Turin.

A relatively credible announcement, but still without the slightest certainty. Sancho is one of those projects where everything still seems possible. We’re just waiting for something concrete to make things clearer.
It’s quite possible that PSG will speed things up, and he could win out over any competition. But we don’t know to what extent Paris or other clubs are tempted. Nor what the price really is. And it’s unlikely to be paid by the Parisian club alone – that sounds like a media exaggeration.
Let’s hope that PSG will soon be able to give us a clearer picture of its mercato. As is often the case, the wait is long.
