On the sidelines of the Champions League semi-final second leg between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, won 2-1 by the Parisians (3-1 on aggregate), Gunners coach Mikel Arteta declared that his team deserved to win. Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Arteta maintained that his team deserved more than PSG.
Arteta “it’s crystal clear who’s been the best.”
“I think it’s one of the saddest and proudest moments I’ve had as Arsenal manager. For many reasons obviously.”
Regarding your assessment of the game, do you stand by it?
“À 100%. I look at the impact, I look at all the statistics. Obviously we have the best stats and the best shot difference in the semi-final, so it’s very clear. But it’s not about the probability of winning or what you’ve achieved, it’s about making it happen.
When you look at the important statistics that normally give you the best route to winning soccer matches, it’s crystal clear who’s been the best.”
