The Parc des Princes played host to AJ Auxerre for the final Ligue 1 match of the 34th day. And although AJA had the luxury of opening the scoring, it was the Parisians who came out on top, 3-1 (PSG/Auxerre video highlights). Paris striker Désiré Doué spoke to DAZN before celebrating the club’s 13th title with the fans:
Doué: “We had more heart in the second half”.
How important was it to get the season off to a good start?
Yes, it was very important. We saw in the first half that there were things we needed to correct, but we showed more heart in the second half. We were able to create chances and be effective, so it’s great because we’re finishing in a great way, and we’d like to thank our supporters.
Did the coach give you a blow?
Yes, of course, when you have things to improve on the pitch, we were all aware that we had to do better in the second half, and that’s what we did.
Don’t you and the rest of us think that this is the Champions League final?
Every match is a final, and for us there are only two left. Before the Club World Cup, we’re going to concentrate first on the French Cup and winning that trophy, because it’s very important, and then we can concentrate on the Champions League.
