Carlos Soler, the 28-year-old midfielder who arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 from Valencia with a contract running until 2027, failed to convince on the pitch and was loaned out to West Ham for the 2024-2025 season. He has now returned to Paris, with a solution to find for the future. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports this Wednesday that Napoli have taken action.
The Italian journalist doesn’t really give any more details, so it’s hard to see clearly. But Napoli, the Italian champions, are clearly going to be very active in the mercato, and Soler could be a way of bolstering the squad. He’s a quality player and a team player. That may appeal.
He no longer belongs at PSG, in a team where places are very expensive, so we expect the club and the Spaniard to be open to a sale. But there’s nothing to say the deal would be straightforward either. Interest is not official, and other clubs may try their luck. It’s far too early for certainties.
