The 2025 summer mercato is now open in France until 8pm on September 1, so the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. This time, PSG Inside Actus reports an interest in Carlos Baleba, a 21-year-old midfielder from Cameroon and Brighton (contract until 2028).
Tough competition.
“According to my sources, PSG have fallen behind in this dossier, leaving the field open to other European suitors. But the Parisian club could catch up, as players like Asensio are of interest to the English club.
Despite PSG’s confirmed interest, the club seems to have put other priorities at the top of the pile, such as Rodrigo #Mora or Ilyia Zabarnyi, which has left time for other clubs – notably from the Bundesliga and Serie A – to position themselves more actively on the Baleba dossier.
Manchester City, both Milan clubs and even Bayer Leverkusen are interested in the player.”
Nothing impossible, nor certain. It’s a period of rumours, with PSG preparing several dossiers but not moving forward on each one. We’re used to it, it happens every summer. Baleba, with his ability to recover the ball, his capacity to “break” lines with the ball and his youth, could fit the bill and be an interesting recruit.
But there’s nothing more at the moment. It’s a prospect that may never come to fruition, especially as competition is expected to be stiff for a player who has made his mark in the Premier League.
Let’s wait and see, then, as there are too many possible outcomes today. PSG, Brighton and Baleba may have other priorities than a joint agreement. Even if this is a possible outcome.
