As part of Matchday 5 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain travelled to face Stade de Reims on Saturday. Speaking to PSG TV, 25-year-old Parisian striker Randal Kolo Muani reflected on the disappointing result, while highlighting the positives.
Kolo Muani: “We mustn’t give up”.
“It was a complicated game, there was a lot of intensity, and we expected that. Even though they opened the scoring early on, we were able to react in the second half. We stayed solid and came away with a point. They were a good Reims team, and we wanted to come away with all three points.
Despite that, we’ll take one, and we mustn’t give up, it’s very important. What about the fans? It’s great that they’re pushing us, we need them. And I think that’s also the mentality of the team: never give up, fight for your team-mates. I hope we can keep that mentality and go as far as we can.”
PSG’s start to the season has come to a halt, with their second poor performance of the season. Although the team managed to win in the dying minutes in the Champions League on Wednesday, they failed to find the net in the league on Saturday.
This proves that the team still has work to do in order to reach a level that will enable it to play match after match. For the time being, that’s not the case, and the gaps are still there.
