Carlos Baleba, a 21-year-old midfielder from Cameroon and Brighton (contract until 2028), has been mentioned as a target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer. According to PSG Inside Actus, there is indeed an interest, even if there’s nothing concrete yet.
“Paris Saint-Germain continues to scrutinize the market for young talent, and Carlos Baleba is still high on the club’s radar. The Brighton midfielder appeals greatly to the Parisian recruitment team, who see in him a player of the future capable of bringing power and technique to the midfield. No agreement has yet been reached, but PSG’s interest is well and truly confirmed in relation to the information I gave you.”
We remain cautious, as confirmation is still needed to be certain. Above all, and this is often made clear, an interest does not mean that there will be an offer, and an agreement is even further away. Clubs need to think about several avenues and prepare themselves in order to have a satisfactory mercato.
Baleba has an interesting profile, with a physical strength that could do Paris a world of good. He also has a certain technical quality. But there’s nothing to say at the moment that PSG will take action, that the player wants to come (even if it’s possible) or that Brighton are ready to open the door at a reasonable price. Let’s wait and see.
