Achraf Hakimi, 26-year-old right-sided piston of Paris Saint-Germain, spoke to DAZN after the 4-0 victory over Real Madrid (video highlights PSG/Real Madrid) this Wednesday at New York’s MetLife Stadium as part of the semi-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup. He was understandably happy after a great performance.
Hakimi “There’s a job being done that’s magnificent.”
Are you relaxed at the moment?
Now we’re calmer after the win because we made an incredible effort. It was hot and the match wasn’t easy because of that. On the other side, there were some great players and we did a magnificent job.
Are you more fulfilled now that you’re everywhere? What kind of fun are you having?
I didn’t decide that when I left Real Madrid. I’m doing what I like to do, playing and enjoying myself. It was the coach who gave me the confidence, the freedom to play in the middle and to stay open. And he also told me to defend well, but with my team-mates. The work that’s being done is magnificent. There’s a lot of compensation and that gives me peace of mind. The truth is, I’m very happy and I’m really enjoying my time with the team.
