Marco Verratti, the 32-year-old midfielder now with Al-Duhail in Qatar, is best known for his time with Paris Saint-Germain from 2012 to 2023. But we shouldn’t forget the importance of his formative club, Delfino Pescara. In fact, the Italian international has made a strong choice to help the latter.
“Marco Verratti buys 50% of Pescara, his first club
He joins the organization chart to help rebuild the club.”
When he left for PSG in 2012, Verratti had just won promotion to Serie A with Pescara. But he was unable to make a lasting impact in Italy’s elite. Worse still, the Little Owl’s former team went all the way down to Serie C. Fortunately, they were able to climb back up again at the end of the 2024-2025 season.
To help Pescara achieve this, and to show his appreciation, the former PSG midfielder decided to invest both time and money. It’s a commitment that many clubs would no doubt appreciate. We can only wish Verratti every success in this adventure.
