Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 26-year-old goalkeeper who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 on a contract until 2026, is at the center of rumors. His contract extension has not been finalized, and he has been asked to leave after not being called up for the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham, following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier (23, French national team) from Lille to replace him. Journalists Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday evening that Manchester City has contacted PSG.
“Talks have been going on over the last few hours between Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain about Donnarumma.

These are generally reliable journalists, and Manchester City’s interest has been reported by several media outlets, so it’s safe to assume that there’s something to it. Especially since this transfer would make sense. The English club has already seen Ederson (31) potentially on his way out, without anything concrete happening. But this time, Galatasaray seems to be moving forward and may already have an agreement with him. With Donnarumma being pushed out by PSG, City may be tempted to make a change.
But negotiations are still necessary, with each club defending its position. Paris’ initial asking price of €50 million is too high. That’s logical; it’s all part of the negotiation process. The next few days could be intense, and we can hope for an agreement. Even if nothing has been finalized yet, caution is still necessary.
