This summer, the Randal Kolo Muani saga dominated the transfer window. The 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker seemed close to returning to Juventus on a six-month loan, but the deal never materialized, and he ended up signing for Tottenham. Several media outlets then reported on alleged tensions between Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the PSG president, and Damien Comolli, the general manager of the Turin club. The latter addressed these reports in a press conference on Thursday.

“I was surprised to read some articles about discussions I supposedly had with the PSG president: these are completely false rumors, they are lies, we had no discussions at all. I have always been a great supporter of top clubs, with whom I have always had excellent relations, and the same applies to PSG.”

The idea is clearly to quell any potential tensions or controversy, but it’s obvious that things didn’t go smoothly regarding Kolo Muani. There was indeed talk of him staying, and that didn’t happen. Given the protracted nature of the saga, it’s understandable that there might be some disappointment and disagreements.

However, we appreciate this approach of dismissing the problems. It’s time to move on; there’s no point in dwelling on this setback. Juventus and PSG have plenty of other matters to focus on as the season gets underway. And Kolo Muani needs to concentrate on performing well at Tottenham.
