Ousmane Dembélé, the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward, spoke to Ligue1+ after the 2-0 victory against Auxerre on Saturday at the Parc des Princes, during matchday 6 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. He talked about celebrating his Ballon d’Or award and his upcoming return from injury.
Dembélé: “Everyone was happy for me. That’s great.”
Is it important to share this Ballon d’Or with the Parc des Princes fans?
“Yes, sharing something like this at home is always great. They gave us an incredible welcome, whether it was for me, the team, or the coach—it was all very positive.”
You didn’t want to speak on the pitch?
“It was mainly Marquinhos who wanted me to speak (smiling).”
You received some important messages this week, even from the President of the Republic?
“Yes, he sent a message, and I received many messages from everyone. Everyone was happy for me. That’s great.”
How was your week?
“Very good, but hectic. It’s true that the day after the ceremony, there were a lot of interviews. It was a bit hectic. The last few days have been a bit calmer.”
Dembélé: “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but…”
A good reaction on the pitch tonight?
“Yes, that’s right, we have to keep it up. It’s the first half of the season, we have to stay on track. We’ll have to start the second half of the season well, but we also need to qualify for the Champions League and continue playing well in Ligue 1.”
Back against Strasbourg?
“I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but things are going well, I’ll be back very soon.”
