As part of Ligue 1’s 6th matchday, Paris Saint-Germain hosted AJ Auxerre at the Parc des Princes and won 2-0. Speaking to PSG TV, 17-year-old forward Mathis Jangeal looked back on his very first appearance with the senior team.
Jangeal: “The intensity and the size of the players, it’s different from our usual matches.”
“I’m very happy to have made my debut with the club of my heart, to come on like that at the Parc des Princes. It’s a day that will stay etched in my memory forever. Seeing Quentin come on gave me confidence; I could watch how the match was unfolding. When I came on, I made the most of it and gave everything. What impressed me the most? The intensity and the size of the players — it’s different from our usual matches.”
It’s always a special moment for a young “Titi” from Paris to make his first appearance, especially at the Parc des Princes. Mathis Jangeal was able to fully enjoy his moment and share in the 2–0 victory with his teammates.
If he keeps working seriously, there’s little doubt he’ll get more opportunities with the first team. Luis Enrique’s strategy has always been to reward hard work, particularly from academy players. It’s a strong message that the door remains open to those who earn it.
