This Sunday, as part of Matchday 7 of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faced Lille at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Romain Perraud, 28-year-old left-back for Lille, spoke to Ligue 1+ after the 1-1 draw.
Perraud: “We can’t be satisfied with that.”
Any regrets?
Yes, of course, but in terms of scoring, it’s still a good result. We can’t be satisfied with that because we lacked technical precision. We lacked simplicity in our play. There was more to do tonight, we have to do better. There was a good team, there was room, and there may be regrets. That’s how we grow as a team. We want to be ambitious.
When Hakimi comes on, what do you think?
That’s a good question. I’m starting to get nervous in the last 20 minutes. The two best full-backs in the world came on, I don’t need to draw a picture. You have to know how to manage between going forward and maintaining balance. On the one hand, we were behind, but we still had to go for it. I’m a little frustrated.
Perraud: “I’m not sure we tested Chevalier enough.”
Was there anything better to do on Nuno Mendes’ goal?
To be honest, I didn’t have time to watch it again, but we have to congratulate the shooter, he pulled down the spider’s web. It was a great shot. I don’t know what the pundits think; maybe we could have had one more player in the wall, but it’s easier to talk after the match than during it.
What was the plan?
We wanted to exploit the defenders’ backs, but against this team, you have to be efficient and finish off moves. I’m not sure we’ve tested Chevalier enough and there’s disappointment.
