On the 10th matchday of Ligue 1 2025-2026, Paris Saint-Germain faces Lorient at the Stade du Moustoir this Wednesday at 7 p.m. It’s a must-win game if they are to remain at the top of the table, as several teams at the top of the table are expected to win.

PSG has regained its strength and should be able to field a competitive team on Wednesday, while managing its players (such as Achraf Hakimi, who will be rested). There can be no other mission than victory against the 16th-ranked team. Even if Lorient has no intention of giving away points to the Parisians.

PSG will need to be fully focused to avoid an upset, which could quickly cost them the top spot they regained this weekend. Lens, now in second place, travels to face Metz, who are 18th and in crisis with only two points to their name. Although football is always full of surprises, Lens are clear favorites.

The same goes for Olympique de Marseille (3rd), who need to get back on track against Angers (15th), who narrowly beat Lorient on Sunday. Lyon (4th) need to be wary of Paris FC (11th), but Les Gones should have what it takes to get the better of the newly promoted side. Fifth-placed Lille have what looks like the toughest game on paper. Lille travels to Nice, which is inconsistent but capable of anything and has regained confidence after two consecutive wins.

The contrasts continue, as Monaco (6th) travels to Nantes (13th) and Strasbourg (7th) hosts Auxerre (17th). Nantes are coming off a win and will be dangerous, but Monaco have the squad to go for the win. Strasbourg could take advantage of Auxerre’s very difficult run (three defeats and one draw since their last win) to put their mistakes against Lyon on Sunday evening behind them.

In the midst of all this, there are two other more direct confrontations: Le Havre (14th) and Brest (12th) will battle to move away from the relegation zone, while Toulouse (9th) and Rennes (10th) will try to catch up with the European spots. Rennes also need to end their crisis, with coach Habib Baye’s future looking very uncertain.
