On the eve of the clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, for Matchday 4 of the Champions League, Luis Enrique (55 years old) spoke to beIN Sports. The Spanish manager delivered a measured but confident speech, praising the quality of their Bavarian rivals while highlighting PSG’s collective strength at home.
Luis Enrique: “All the players are ready”
It’s a special kind of training to do this kind of workout before this type of match. All the players are ready, and it’s great to have this training session.
The two best teams in Europe right now?
Who knows, I don’t know. It’s clear that this is one of the best matches you can play and see right now. They are a very good team, and I think it will be similar to the Club World Cup match we played in the United States. It’s great for the fans, and we’ll be playing at home; it’s special. With our fans, we’re even stronger. We’re happy and motivated to try and win this match.
Luis Enrique: “It’s going to be an interesting match for everyone.”
Do you think you’re similar to Bayern Munich, or what differentiates you?
I think it’s similar because their mentality is the same. We want to dominate the game, press, and those things—in terms of football, clearly, it’s the same. But there are small details that are different, and in that sense, it’s going to be an interesting match for everyone.
