On Tuesday evening, the Champions League kicked off its fourth group stage matchday. Paris Saint-Germain hosted Bayern Munich in a packed and electric Parc des Princes. Unfortunately for Luis Enrique’s men, even with a numerical advantage, they lost 1-2 to the Munich side, and saw Dembélé and Hakimi leave the field injured. Vincent Kompany, the Rekordmeister’s coach, reflected on his team’s victory:
Kompany: “I’m staying humble about it, we won.”
Can you dream big?
From my perspective, I’m staying humble about it. We won, we have three points. That’s good. We knew we were capable of doing it too. Now, the truth is in the next match. Nobody wins a trophy in November.
But it gives us confidence. We made a lot of changes to the squad on Saturday, and the team really stepped up. Today we faced a situation where we had to defend with 10 men, and the team rose to the occasion. For us, these are just small moments that allow us to believe in great things to come later in the season. We are capable of adapting and we can achieve results.
