On Tuesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-2 against Bayern Munich in Matchday 4 of the 2025-2026 Champions League at the Parc des Princes. Here are the highs and lows of this defeat.
Highs –
João Neves
The introduction of the 21-year-old midfielder was a welcome boost, injecting more pace into the game and more aggression into duels, without committing unnecessary fouls. He was also PSG’s only goalscorer. Sharper than some of the others, he confirmed his place among the best.
Lee Kang-In
In a PSG side lacking key players and sometimes ideas, the 24-year-old midfielder/forward was a prolific creator of chances. He never forgot to be aggressive when possession was lost. His recent rise in form is promising; he needs to keep it up.
Lows –
More injuries.
Some will want to judge the choices without knowing the details, but we prefer to leave that aside. Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward) felt pain and had to leave the field, even though he hasn’t yet been able to regain his best form after his September injury. Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old right-back) also suffered an ankle injury following a terrible tackle by Luis Diaz. More setbacks in an already disjointed start to the season.
Bradley Barcola
Amidst the injuries, the 23-year-old striker is suffering from a string of them. Perhaps too many; he even had a minor scare recently. In any case, he lacks precision and sharpness. Very disappointing once again, he hasn’t managed to establish himself as a leader in attack.
