On Tuesday, as part of Matchday 4 of the 2025-2026 Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain faced Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes. Josep Stanisic, the 25-year-old full-back for the German team, stopped in the mixed zone after PSG’s 1-2 defeat. He addressed the violent tackle by Luis Diaz (28-year-old winger) that injured Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old PSG right-back) with questionable choice of words.
Stanisic: “We thanked him (laughs).”
“He knows himself that he needs to be smarter in these kinds of situations.”
Did he apologize to the team?
“No, he didn’t. We thanked him (laughs). Just kidding! He was happy. Like all of us.”
Humor is a good thing, but there are limits. Injuring an opponent seems to be one of them. Especially with a “nasty” gesture that could cause a fairly long absence. We can regret this lack of class from Stanisic, who could have shown more Fair play. It makes the victory all the sweeter. It’s a shame. Perhaps this could serve as motivation for the Parisians in their next match.
