On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain released an official statement providing an update on its injury situation. Three players were expected to be affected: Achraf Hakimi (27-year-old right-back), Ousmane Dembélé (28-year-old forward), and Désiré Doué (20-year-old midfielder/forward). Nuno Mendes (23-year-old left-back) is also included.
“– Achraf Hakimi has suffered a severe sprain of his left ankle, which will keep him out for several weeks.
– Ousmane Dembélé has a left calf injury. He will remain in treatment for the next few weeks.
– Nuno Mendes has a sprain of his left knee. He will remain in treatment for the next few weeks.
– Désiré Doué is continuing his rehabilitation.
A further update will be provided after the international break.”
PSG is facing another somewhat complicated period with key players absent, especially since they play similar roles (two forwards, two full-backs). PSG will have to find solutions and hope for relatively quick returns. But there’s no guarantee they’ll be able to play soon after the break.
