Ousmane Dembélé, the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker, had to leave the field during Wednesday night’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich and has not yet returned to action. On Sunday, L’Equipe provided an update on his potential return against Tottenham on Wednesday (Matchday 5).

“We’ll see (Monday) and (Tuesday). There are three days left. After that, it will be up to the coach to decide.”

Wearing a neck warmer, hat, and gloves, Ousmane Dembélé participated in a large part of the pre-match training session on Friday at the Poissy campus, where PSG were preparing for their home game against Le Havre (3-0). According to an internal source, the Ballon d’Or winner is feeling “positive” after the calf injury he suffered against Bayern Munich (1-2, November 4).

Is this enough to consider a return as early as Wednesday for the Champions League match against Tottenham? This is one of the key issues for the Ballon d’Or winner and the Paris Saint-Germain staff in the coming hours. “He knows his body well. We’ll see on Monday and Tuesday. There are three days left. After that, it will be up to the coach to decide,” a source at PSG stated.

It’s not a done deal yet; there will still be caution against Tottenham. But Dembélé’s return is getting closer. He’s participating in training with the group; the question now is whether he can complete full sessions without any discomfort and whether he’s fully fit.

It’s possible he’ll be back this Wednesday, but it’s difficult to be certain without being with the squad. There’s a risk it might be too soon, especially since Dembélé has suffered several injuries. He needs to break this vicious cycle for the rest of the season. There’s no immediate rush.
