Arnau Tenas, the 24-year-old Villarreal goalkeeper, spoke with Mundo Deportivo. He discussed his decision to sign with Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, having played eight matches before leaving for his current club last summer. This also gave him the opportunity to share his thoughts on Luis Enrique.
Tenas: “I felt at home”
“Going to Paris was an incredible experience. I felt at home from day one. I learned the language, I improved a lot both as a player and as a person. It was a very enriching two years, both as a player and as a person.”
Tenas: “He’s a great coach”
Luis Enrique?
“The team was very good, as evidenced by the titles won. And what can I say about Luis Enrique? He’s a great coach, he’s proven it.” That’s how you win titles: by working hard and having a good team.
It’s wonderful to see Tenas’s positive feelings and memories, especially considering his very limited playing time (8 matches). This ultimately led to his departure, quite logically. But he especially cherishes the good times he experienced. He also remembers what he learned in an exceptional squad and with a top-level coach.
The Spanish goalkeeper was a good fit for the group, but he had to earn a starting position to take the next step in his career. We can only be delighted with Tenas’s record; he never complained about his place in Paris. This is yet another sign of the club’s good management and positive atmosphere in recent years.
