Anisio Cabral, the 17-year-old Benfica striker (under contract until 2027) and a member of the Portuguese youth national team (number 19 in the photo), has been mentioned as a potential target for Paris Saint-Germain during the transfer window. The newspaper Le Parisien confirmed this on Thursday evening, adding his teammate Rafael Quintas (a 17-year-old midfielder also under contract until 2027), as well as competition from Manchester City and Manchester United.

“🔴🔵 Striker Anisio Cabral and midfielder Rafael Quintas, both playing for Benfica, are highly regarded by PSG.

PSG will not be alone in this pursuit; both players are being courted by the two Manchester clubs.”

Nothing is impossible. PSG clearly intends to continue relying on young talent to develop them within its philosophy (both in terms of playing style and mentality). Cabral and Quintas are touted as players with great potential, and it would make sense for them to be monitored. Especially given their contract situation, which will lead to a clear decision soon.

However, there is nothing concrete yet. There is no official confirmation, nor any mention of an offer. Therefore, a signing remains very unlikely. PSG could ultimately move forward with other deals, the players could have other priorities (including staying at Benfica), and other clubs could have a say in the matter. Manchester United and City are possibilities, uncertain and not necessarily the only ones.

It’s all too unclear at the moment. These aren’t options to dismiss or set aside, but there isn’t enough information yet to start making any predictions.
