The 2025/2026 winter transfer window runs from Thursday, January 1st to Monday, February 2nd (8 PM CET) in France, and rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. This time, it’s L’Equipe that mentions interest in Enzo Fernandez, the 24-year-old midfielder for Chelsea (contract until 2032) and Argentina, who is reportedly uncertain about his future.
“Fernandez is not expected to be signed this winter.”
PSG has identified Enzo Fernandez as a possible target. The Argentinian midfielder – who is under contract until 2032 – is among the players who interest the capital club, especially since he is questioning his future at Chelsea. He had developed a good relationship with Enzo Maresca, and the Italian’s dismissal, replaced by Liam Rosenior, has clearly affected him.
Fernandez is not expected to be signed this winter. PSG hasn’t initiated any discussions about the situation in this area of the pitch, where Achraf Hakimi’s imminent return from the Africa Cup of Nations would allow Warren Zaïre-Emery to reinstate him in midfield.
Nothing is impossible, nor is it certain. It’s only a question of a “possible target,” and it wouldn’t even be for the immediate future. The sports daily is taking few risks. PSG and Enzo Fernandez have plenty of time to move on. Even though it’s quite possible that Paris is studying the situation, possibly taking advantage of the instability at Chelsea.
But there’s no question of an offer, much less an agreement. Chelsea and the Argentinian might well have other plans, while PSG might have other priorities. Not to mention that the midfielder has a rather negative image in France following his celebrations after the World Cup final with racist chants. An important point that could be a deterrent.
