Enzo Fernandez, the 24-year-old Chelsea and Argentina midfielder (under contract until 2032), was reportedly targeted by Paris Saint-Germain by L’Equipe for a summer 2026 transfer rather than this winter window. PSG Inside Actus has clearly addressed the rumor.
“Regarding Enzo Fernandez, Paris Saint-Germain is not currently interested. The last negotiations took place before his arrival at Chelsea. Since then, there has been no further contact.”
As is often the case during the transfer window, we can only remain very cautious as it’s difficult to see things clearly. Two media outlets are discussing the same player with very different positions, and there’s nothing concrete to help sort things out. However, PSG mentions numerous potential targets every year without any confirmation, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Enzo Fernandez were among them. This is especially true given his very negative image in France following the celebrations of the 2022 World Cup final, which were marred by racist chants against the French national team.
Also, his contract with Chelsea is still long. A departure isn’t impossible, especially if the club remains unstable, but it’s far from likely. He could then have other options, while PSG may have other priorities. L’Equipe, in any case, did not go beyond a “possible target”.
