This Saturday, January 24th, while savoring yesterday’s victory against Auxerre in the opening match of Matchday 19 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain has a small event to celebrate: the birthday of Ibrahim Mbaye, the PSG academy graduate who turns 18.
Mbaye has caught the eye of coach Luis Enrique and has been earning opportunities with the first team for several months. His exceptional attacking qualities have quickly become apparent, and the academy graduate has gradually improved his accuracy, both in decision-making and execution. All of this is complemented by the essential defensive energy required by this PSG side. His meteoric rise earned him a place in Senegal’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, which they won last Sunday, where he played a substitute role in almost every match.
We’re now eager to see what’s next for this young talent, hoping to see him further refine his game. In the meantime, we wish Mbaye a happy birthday. It’s also an opportunity to congratulate him again on his performance at the Africa Cup of Nations.
