In addition to the Player of the Month award, the Professional Football League (LFP) organizes other votes, including one for the best goal. For January, Paris Saint-Germain had one player nominated. The nominees were: Ousmane Dembélé (PSG), Ludovic Ajorque (Brest), Karim Dermane (Lorient), Pavel Sulc (Olympique Lyonnais), and Matthis Abline (Nantes). Sulc won.
It’s a bit of a surprise, at least for Parisians, given that Dembélé’s goal was being heavily promoted by many media outlets. But it’s a vote, and we can only accept the result. Sulc’s shot was also of a certain quality, that’s undeniable.
