Anisio Cabral, the 17-year-old striker for Portugal’s youth national teams and Benfica (who was under contract until 2027), has been mentioned as a potential target for Paris Saint-Germain during the transfer window. On Monday evening, the Portuguese club announced a four-year contract extension, and media outlets are reporting a significant increase in his release clause.

According to several media outlets, Cabral’s release clause has been raised from €30 million to €80 million with this extension. This substantial increase allows Benfica to protect itself against potential future offers, including one from PSG, even though nothing concrete has materialized yet.
The striker has thus demonstrated his desire to continue developing within his boyhood club, without rushing into a move. Perhaps PSG will still be able to make a move in the future with a significant offer. But there is no longer any question of seizing the opportunity presented by an approaching end of contract.
