On Matchday 27 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faces Nice at the Allianz Riviera this Saturday at 9:05 PM CET. A crucial match in the title race and in the fight for survival in a league where things can change very quickly.

After the excitement and energy expended in Europe, PSG, Olympique Lyonnais, and Strasbourg must quickly refocus on the league to ensure the best possible international break. PSG needs a win to maintain first place or extend their lead, while Lens (2nd) will be the favorite when they host Angers (12th), who have been struggling recently. But as we’ve seen recently, nothing is certain in football.

Moreover, PSG seems capable of winning in Nice, but the 15th-placed team desperately needs points to secure their survival, and they proved last week in Angers that they still have some fight left in them.

Right behind them, a highly anticipated clash will take place at the Stade Vélodrome as Olympique de Marseille (3rd) host Lille (5th). Both teams have improved recently and are aiming for a Champions League spot next season, though they still have some issues to resolve. It will be an explosive match, and the loser will face a very difficult two weeks.

The same will be true for Olympique Lyonnais (4th) and AS Monaco (6th). The former is still dealing with a lengthy injury list and a very difficult period (2 losses and 2 draws), while Monaco arrives full of confidence, looking to further solidify their climb back towards European qualification.

Rennes (7th) must capitalize on this opportunity, putting their frustrating defeat against Lille last weekend behind them. They can’t afford to be complacent against a bottom-placed team struggling and reeling from a last-minute loss to Toulouse in the previous matchday.

Toulouse’s (11th) match against Lorient (9th) seems more like a mid-table clash, unless one of them finally strings together a run of wins to secure promotion.

At least they appear to be somewhat out of the relegation battle, where Auxerre (16th) must fight hard at home to defeat the formidable Brest side (10th). The direct duel will be between Paris FC (13th) and Le Havre (14th), with a victory providing a welcome relief. Finally, Nantes must aim for a minor upset at home against Strasbourg, an 8th-placed team that has struggled to cope with European competition.
