n Tuesday at Stamford Bridge, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Chelsea 3-0 (8-2 aggregate score, quarter-final to be played against Liverpool or Galatasaray) in the second leg of their 2025-2026 Champions League round of 16 tie (PSG won 5-2 in the first leg). Here are the player ratings given by Le Parisien and L’Équipe to the capital club’s players (find ours here).
Le Parisien:
Kvaratshelia (7.5) – Dembélé (5) – Barcola (7)
Neves (6) – Mayulu (6.5) – Vitinha (6) – Zaïre-Emery (7)
Nuno Mendes (6) – Pacho (6) – Marquinhos (6) – Hakimi (6)
Safonov (7.5)
L’Equipe:
Luis Enrique – 8
Kvaratshelia (7) – Dembélé (5) – Barcola (7)
Neves (7) – Mayulu (6) – Vitinha (6) – Zaïre-Emery (7)
Nuno Mendes (6) – Pacho (6) – Marquinhos (7) – Hakimi (6)
Safonov (8)
Not much to say about the ratings, except that there are obviously feelings involved. They expressed themselves more than others. The main takeaway is that Safonov was excellent, as was the rest of the team. Kvaratskhelia, Barcola, and Zaïre-Emery were very good, and the other players played their part without incident. We saw a team, a collective, that, this time more than usual lately, expressed itself defensively with surgical precision. No goals conceded, a good goalkeeper, and strikers who scored—nothing was lacking, since even in midfield, we find players who had a very good game.
