During his substitution in France’s 2-1 victory against Brazil, Ousmane Dembélé appeared to be complaining of pain. This caused concern for the 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain and Les Bleus striker. National team coach Didier Deschamps was questioned about it on TF1.
“Ousmane? He’s fine, it’s nothing serious. (…) Aurélien Tchouméni also took a knock, and I’m going to rotate the squad against Colombia on Sunday. How many players will be affected? I can change eleven (smiles),” the French coach told TF1.
Apparently, there’s nothing serious, although we’ve already seen that the initial, relatively positive news isn’t always a guarantee. We can at least hope that a little rest will be enough, and we can consider the possibility that Dembélé won’t start against Colombia on Sunday. He could well return in top form with PSG, where there’s a crucial end to the season to play for.
