Paris Saint-Germain lost 2-1 to Paris FC this Sunday at the Stade Jean Bouin in Matchday 34 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season. Speaking to PSG TV, Luis Enrique, the club’s coach, reflected on his players’ performance.
Luis Enrique: “I’m a little annoyed, frustrated, and disappointed.”
“We are champions, and we knew how difficult this match would be. I’m a little disappointed because I expected much more from my players, and today the match was very poor. A first half without any intention, ambition, or rhythm. It’s difficult to win a match here; we knew how difficult it would be before the game.
We knew the objective of this match. But what I think is that our players can overcome this lack of motivation and play differently.” The easy thing in this type of match is to lack motivation. But I expected much more motivation from my players, and for that reason, I’m a little annoyed, frustrated, and disappointed.
A logical defeat for PSG, who failed to bring the necessary discipline and intensity to this match to secure the win. PFC was obviously eager to win in front of their home crowd. For the last match of the season, it’s always good to finish on a high note, celebrating before taking a break for almost two months. For their part, PSG will have plenty to celebrate on May 30th.
This upcoming Champions League final against Arsenal will be the highlight of the season. During these two weeks, the preparation will inevitably be intense and rigorous, in order to be 100% ready for this clash, which could allow the Parisian club to make history in French football, and indeed in European football, by winning the Champions League trophy twice in a row.
