Willian Pacho, the 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain defender, was in the mixed zone on Wednesday for Media Day to discuss the 2025-2026 Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday, May 30.
Pacho: “I would give my life for Paris.”
Happy in Paris?
Yes, I would give my life for Paris. From my first day here, I felt very welcome. The fans too, incredible. I will always give my best for this club because they trusted me from the start.
Since the club gave me their trust, they gave me my chance to represent them. I am very happy to have the hope of playing in a second Champions League final.
Pacho: “It’s special.”
What does it feel like to represent Paris in a Champions League final?
I think it represents much more than Paris; it represents French football. We are the representatives and we are here to bring the title home.
The fans?
Here, the number of fans we have at the matches is incredible. During the semi-final against Bayern away, we could feel that joy. It’s special; when I arrived at PSG, I didn’t expect this, to see how they sing at every match. It motivates me to give my best.
Pacho: “It will be an exciting final.”
A great final to play?
We have a great team, a great coach, a great club, with very clear ideas. That’s what motivates us to want to play, and the results. It will be an exciting final.
Do you feel you can be one of the best teams in history to win the Champions League?
Reaching a Champions League final is difficult, but having another chance to win a second one is even better. I’m very happy about that. We’re preparing for this, we’re focused.
Pacho “speaks clearly. He knows how to instill confidence.”
Luis Enrique’s contribution?
It’s enormous. He has very clear ideas, he speaks clearly. He knows how to instill confidence. We know what we have to do and we’re always looking to improve. It’s a great opportunity for us. It gives us the motivation to win.
