Ezequiel Lavezzi, who played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2012 to 2016, was one of the first football stars to join the QSI project. In an interview with 90min, the Argentinian spoke about PSG’s evolution since his time with the Parisian club.
“There have been a lot of changes, and for the better. We laid the foundations of the great PSG we see today. Today, I see a PSG firmly established among the world’s elite. […] It has matured enormously institutionally and has earned the respect we sought from day one.”
In 10 years, the capital club has joined the ranks of the best clubs in the world. Now the Champions League winner, they can hope to win a second consecutive title this Saturday in Budapest against Arsenal. However, none of this would have been possible without the players who helped build such a solid project.
Ezequiel Lavezzi, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Javier Pastore, Thiago Silva, and Marco Verratti, is one of those who laid the foundations. If PSG is among the world’s elite today, it’s also thanks to them, even if they haven’t won that European title. They will nonetheless remain etched in the club’s history.
