On Saturday night, Paris Saint-Germain triumphed on penalties (1-1 in regulation time, 4-3 on penalties) against Arsenal in the 2025-2026 Champions League final at the Parc des Princes. Here are the highs and lows of this victory.
Highs –
❤️ Legendary.
The first was historic, and this second consecutive Champions League title allows PSG to enter the annals of history by joining the select group of clubs to have achieved this feat. Only Real Madrid, with its group stage format, has gone on to win three titles. This will undoubtedly be PSG’s objective, but for now, they must savor the moment.
Controlling emotions despite a difficult situation.
Conceding an early goal and facing a very defensive Arsenal side looking to waste time—it was easy to lose one’s temper. But the Parisians managed to stay relatively calm and avoid losing their final. That’s real mental strength.
Football won.
Everyone has their own strategy, but what matters most is winning. However, we still prefer an attacking style of play without constantly trying to disrupt the rhythm, even in throw-ins. It’s a pleasure to see the attacking team rewarded in the end.
Lows –
😡Arsenal’s philosophy.
For a great football match, you need two teams. To make it frustrating, you only need one. There’s the defensive aspect, which is perfectly acceptable in the strategy. But when fouls and time-wasting are added on, it becomes very tiresome. It’s a shame for this evening of football in the most prestigious club competition in Europe.
