The France/Iraq match will be streamed live this Monday at 11 PM CET. It’s part of Matchday 2 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and will be played at Lincoln Financial Field. Five Paris Saint-Germain players, all French, will be involved: Lucas Hernandez, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembélé.
We hope to see a fast-paced and spectacular match, as was the case for both nations last Tuesday: a 3-1 victory for France against Senegal and a 1-4 defeat for Iraq against Norway. Of course, Iraq will want to do better and maintain a real chance of reaching the Round of 32 of the World Cup.
However, their defensive weaknesses don’t exactly inspire optimism for qualification, but rather suggest opportunities for Les Bleus. Even so, every match is different. We know that football can change very quickly. France must approach this match with utmost seriousness in order to make a better start than in their last game. They must avoid putting themselves under pressure; the objective is to confirm the victory and advance as quickly as possible to the next round.
We hope this will be achieved with strong performances from our Parisians, if they participate. As a reminder, Hernandez and Zaïre-Emery did not play against Senegal, while only two changes were made (Barcola and Rayan Cherki came on).
