Arthur Vignaud, an 18-year-old goalkeeper developed at Paris Saint-Germain, saw his youth contract expire this summer. A crucial decision regarding his first professional contract therefore had to be made. According to L’Équipe, that step has now been taken with the signing of a three-year deal at PSG.
“A goalkeeper for the PSG U19 and Youth League squads, young Arthur Vignaud (18) has signed a professional contract. The young keeper—who has featured for the U19s and the Youth League side this season—has been with PSG for five years, having arrived from Issy-les-Moulineaux in 2021. Possessing solid technical skills and viewed by his coaches as a prospect for the future, Vignaud has signed a three-year deal (running until 2029) and will aim to build up his physicality over the coming year.”
It would be surprising for the sports newspaper to report on such a story with such certainty if it were merely a guess. Vignaud has evidently signed his contract with PSG, hoping to gradually carve out a place for himself in the professional ranks. Patience and hard work will certainly be required—and possibly at least one loan spell—but this signing clearly demonstrates both his ambition and the club’s confidence in him.
