Here is our series: 5 great reasons to tune in to the match. We’ll be highlighting the most compelling aspects before every game, mixing a bit of seriousness with a touch of humor. Just a heads-up: this isn’t meant to be an exhaustive preview. Next up is Paris Saint-Germain’s friendly match this Wednesday against Mallorca at the San Moix Stadium (kick-off at 9 PM; CET)
5 – Discovering Mallorca and reuniting with Tenas.
While one might sometimes feel like facing the same old opponents in the Champions League, this offers a chance to see other players—ones PSG won’t encounter this season, and likely not anytime soon, given that the club has just been relegated to the Spanish second division. That doesn’t stop there from being some interesting talent on display, however.
It will also be an opportunity to see Arnau Tenas again—the 25-year-old goalkeeper who left for Villarreal in 2025 and was recently loaned to Mallorca for the 2026–2027 season. We can expect some heartwarming reunions surrounding the match.
4. A few “Titis” to discover.
With the squad still far from full strength, there should be opportunities for some of the academy players—at least as substitutes, or perhaps even as starters. It is a great chance for them to showcase their abilities and gain professional experience, and for us to see what they are capable of. That is always an exciting aspect of pre-season friendlies.
3. Ndjantou is back.
Quentin Ndjantou (a 19-year-old forward/midfielder) is one of the Titis capable of making a mark, though he is already a known quantity following a very promising start last season. Unfortunately, his momentum was halted by a serious mid-season injury. Now that he is back, we are eager to see where he stands and what he can contribute this season.
2. A transfer market break (though…).
Since the end of the World Cup, there have been no matches—just a flurry of rumors surrounding PSG. It has been a long spell with very little concrete news. Finally, we get back to the pitch and can talk properly about football again. Even if it is just a friendly. We know many will still have the transfer market on their minds, thinking about potential departures or necessary signings while watching this friendly match. We also know rumors might surface while it’s happening. But still, we’re happy to have this match.
1. PSG’s comeback.
Put simply, PSG is back. There is our love for the club, of course, but also the collective and individual quality within this squad. Despite the absences and the fact that it is a pre-season match, we know we’re going to see some great things. We’re gradually easing into the season—it’s exciting.
