Officially tied to Paris Saint-Germain until 2028, 22-year-old goalkeeper Océane Toussaint is aiming to establish herself as the number one. A product of the Parisian club’s youth academy, she spoke to PSG TV about her contract extension and her ambitions.
Toussaint: “It’s a source of great pride for me”
“I am very happy to extend my contract here at the club where I was trained. It’s a source of great pride for me because I’ve been here for years, and I hope to give my best because this is the club closest to my heart.”
How is your integration into the PSG squad going?
“I get along very well with everyone. I’m someone who adapts easily, too. I try to bring as much good cheer as possible with my smile, and honestly, things are going well. I get along great with Paolo and the other girls; it’s nice to work in an environment where you feel good.”
What does PSG mean to you?
“It’s a source of great pride to be part of the Parisian squad because I grew up here. It’s a source of great pride, and I’m very happy to extend my contract here at the club closest to my heart.”
Toussaint: “We’re ready for the start of the friendly matches.”
How are you approaching the start of the season?
“We’ve jumped straight into the hard work. Every pre-season is tough, but that’s normal. We’ve done all the necessary tests, and our preparation is going very well. We have a great staff, too. We’re ready for the start of the friendly matches.”
What are your goals for this season?
“My goal is to contribute to the team in the best way possible. I want to feel good here and try to get playing time. I’m going to do everything I can to play.”
Toussaint: “I hope we’ll make you dream.” What is your take on the coaching staff’s work and the decision to rely on young players?
“It’s even more apparent this year; there are a lot of us young players, and we represent a fresh start. We bring a breath of fresh air. Having experienced, key players is vital, of course, but I’m grateful to the club for putting its trust in all these young players.”
Do you have a message for the fans?
“Thank you for everything you do for us—for being there day in and day out, supporting us, and coming to watch us play. I hope we can give you something to dream about.”
