Ferran Torres, the 26-year-old forward who joined Paris Saint-Germain from FC Barcelona this summer, played his first minutes for the club on Sunday evening at Roazhon Park in Rennes. Coming on at halftime, the Spaniard scored twice to help overturn a 2-0 deficit and secure a draw. It was a remarkable and historic performance, making him only the third player to start his PSG career with a brace.

Ferran Torres becomes the third player in history to score a brace in his first match for PSG!
Following Patrick Mboma in 1994 against Vac FC (in a Champions League qualifier) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2012 against Lorient, Torres is indeed the third player to achieve this feat. This makes the accomplishment even more impressive, especially considering he played only one half of football.
Of course, this does not guarantee that Torres will easily rack up goals at PSG or that he is destined for a historic tenure. However, the signs are clearly positive, and one can only hope he continues on this path. Perhaps the Spaniard will go on to break other records—but, above all, win titles.
