Paris Saint-Germain (7th) head coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference this Saturday ahead of tomorrow’s match against Olympique de Marseille (13th) at the Stade Vélodrome (kick-off at 8:45 PM, broadcast on Ligue1+) in Matchday 5 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. Alongside the press conference, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “That was our weakest performance; that’s football.”
Did the win at Brest feel good?
Fortunately, we picked up our first three points; it was our first away win. That was our weakest performance—that’s football. Upon analysis, it was a good match, albeit with more errors than usual. But Brest is a real team, and we’ll manage that aspect better in the future. They are very tough to beat; they’re a solid side. We didn’t play as well as we did against Monaco or Lille—that’s football. We’re happy to have won, to have secured that first victory.
Luis Enrique: “We’ll get back to our usual rhythm, and I’m looking forward to that.”
How was the week with the break?
It’s been unusual for the start of the season. We’re used to playing every three days, but now we’re waiting a full week between games. I have a desire to play every three days; I want to see my players out on the pitch.
But it’s difficult right now; there’s only one match, so you have to make choices. However, after the international break, we’ll get back to our usual rhythm, and I’m looking forward to that.
Luis Enrique: “Put in a great performance.”
Is the goal to get three points in Marseille?
Of course, we want the three points. Le Classique is a different kind of match; we are focused on putting in a great performance.
