Amidst the summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain is looking to retain the core players of its squad. Following Ousmane Dembélé (29-year-old forward) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (25-year-old forward), it is now the turn of Désiré Doué—a 21-year-old forward currently under contract with PSG until 2029—to be offered a contract extension. This move had already been mooted and has now been confirmed by L’Équipe.

While Ousmane Dembélé is on the verge of signing a new deal running until 2030 and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is in advanced negotiations with the club, Paris has also submitted a proposal to Désiré Doué extending his stay until 2031 or 2032.
In his two years in the French capital, Désiré Doué has truly stepped up to a new level. Consequently, his new contract will include a “significant” salary increase “to remunerate him in line with his importance to the team,” according to club management. For his part, Désiré Doué is also keen to commit for the long term.
Naturally, the capital club wishes to retain its best assets and extend the contracts of players with the highest market value. Currently, given his age, potential for growth, and performances over the past two years, Désiré Doué ranks among the most highly rated players. Extending his contract also demonstrates that PSG maintains the same level of ambition for the years ahead.
As for the player, although there has been no official statement, the French international has consistently professed his love for the “Rouge et Bleu” jersey. Under these circumstances, it is hard to imagine the player turning down the contract extension he will be offered, even though anything is possible in football.
