This Sunday, during Matchday 5 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain faced Olympique de Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome. Jeffrey De Lange, the 28-year-old Marseille goalkeeper, spoke to Ligue1+ following the 1-2 Paris victor).
De Lange: “We are capable of doing good things together.”
It’s never easy playing this kind of match, but you needed points?
It’s not enough because we lost. But we showed good things—positive things. We fought hard and gave a lot; ultimately, it’s a high-level match. It’s tough to lose, but I’m quite pleased with how things went.
What was the atmosphere like in the dressing room?
Pretty good; we’re trying to work together. We’re going to focus on our work. We are capable of doing good things together. The team spirit is impeccable; we have a real team, and we’re all going to fight together.
De Lange: “I like seeing players with character.”
Is there anything positive you want to take away from this match?
I want to talk about the team; we showed that we are a team. We had chances to score at the end and showed that we never give up—we need to keep going like this.
Were you talking to each other after the second goal? Were you frustrated?
Yes, it’s true that we talk a lot—we need to talk a lot—and we’re all trying to give our best. I like seeing players with character; that’s part of football. We have to communicate, even though it’s difficult.
