RB Salzburg played host to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, on Matchday 6 of the Champions League group stage. The Parisians dominated the match, never really giving the Austrians a second thought. Finally, the return of Gonçalo Ramos, a real goal-getter, broke the psychological glass ceiling that had been plaguing the Red and Blues’ efficiency, as they won 3-0 (highlights Salzburg/PSG). PSG midfielder João Neves spoke to Canal+ Sport about the victory and the team’s new-found efficiency:
Neves: “The most important thing is that Paris-Saint-Germain win”.
How are you feeling tonight?
It’s the second time we’ve won the Champions League this season, so I’m feeling good. I think we played a very good match. We always try to do our best and get the three points like we did tonight.
The team scored 3 goals tonight, is that important with striker goals?
Yes, it’s very important for them and for us. Whether it’s the strikers or the midfielders or even the goalkeeper who scores, the most important thing is for Paris-Saint-Germain to win.
Is it different playing with Ramos?
I think we have to adapt. With a number 9 or a false number 9, our game changes in this situation. I’m very happy for Ramos and for the win.
