Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique held a press conference this Monday ahead of tomorrow’s match against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica (kick-off at 9 p.m., CET), part of the fourth matchday of the 2026-2027 Champions League. On the sidelines of the event, the Spaniard also spoke to PSG TV.
Luis Enrique: “You can feel the essence of football.”
A match in a unique atmosphere tomorrow—how are you approaching it?
We’re happy—the coaching staff especially—to be here for a Champions League match. It’s a different kind of stadium, but you can really feel the essence of football. Otherwise, it’s business as usual; it’s the Champions League, so it’s going to be tough. They need points too, so we’ll have to stay sharp.
Luis Enrique: “Adaptability is key when playing a team like Villarreal.”
What are the keys to the match?
The fans will be there, and we want to show what we’re capable of. But they’re a very good side—it’s difficult to take the ball off them. Being able to adapt is key when you’re playing a team like Villarreal.
